My Approach
I’m an organised designer and a big believer in open communication at every phase, so I bring this to everything I do. Every project is slightly different, of course, but I almost always use my well-established five phase process too – because for me even smaller design projects work best with this level of mindful consideration. Here’s what to expect:
Phase 1:
Discovery
We’ll always start with a thorough conversation face-to-face or on a video call, so that I can understand you and your goals as best as possible. This may be a simple hour-long session or it could be a full brand workshop, where I dig even deeper into your mission, values, target audience and competitors.
Phase 2:
Define
Using the findings from our Discover phase, I’ll set out a strategy for your brand or a clear brief for the project. I’ll present this to you to make sure that we’re in alignment before I start any of the design work.
Phase 3:
Design
This is where the visual creativity begins. I’ll brainstorm and create a range of design concepts, all of which will meet the brief we’ve created in Phase 2 in slightly different ways. This will help me to get a strong understanding of your preferred style and what route to take forwards.
Phase 4:
Develop
Using your feedback and the insight I’ve gathered throughout the project, I’ll develop the design of your preferred concept/s and will present this back to you. Then you’ll select your favourite route, which I’ll refine ready for delivery.
Phase 5:
Delivery
Once you’ve checked, proofed and signed off the final design, I’ll prepare everything in the right formats and will supply you with your files (and guidelines, if relevant) ready to start sharing with the world! I can help to organise print production if you’re new to it too.
