My Approach

The University of Exeter Green Futures Network aims to connect the latest climate research with organisations taking action. It is a free way for any organisation – businesses, community groups, local government, charities – to access up-to-date environmental information, from cutting edge research to brand new resources, and contribute to collective approaches to the emerging climate and ecological emergencies and the changes they are bringing.

The main objective of this project was to create an online platform where people could come together to share and access this information. I began by establishing the specification and needs of the website. Talking through the user journey and site content with the client, I put together a sitemap and wireframes which would provide a hassle free user experience and meet their goals. Once these had been confirmed I started the design phase – using the brand guidelines provided by the University of Exeter.

The client also needed imagery that was on brand and relevant to the website content as well as adding an element of depth, curiosity and creativity. I designed a set of imagery that could be used throughout the website which incorporated impactful photography with illustrations overlaid.
