My Approach
The University of Exeter came to me with a brief for their new MSC in Digital Marketing which was due to go live later in the year. Supplementing the existing MSc Marketing, this programme focuses on the developing skills, platforms and tools that typify the digital marketing environment. The development of a visual identity and key templates to support a coordinated and considered ‘look and feel’ across the programme was required. Designs for a range of materials were also needed. The three key messages that needed to be communicated were:
- Data led
- Technology driven
- Effective communication
After carrying out research and gathering information on similar courses, the course content and the target audience, I set about creating a number of concepts that could be developed. Working with the client we narrowed down the initial ideas to a strong look and feel that could be carried out and applied to all materials. Part of this work involved working closely to the brand guidelines at the same time as introducing new colours, imagery and icons.
